Landscape Construction Supervisor

Ivy League Landscaping is hiring! We are an established family-owned Landscape Construction company with 30+ years in the industry. We are an innovative smaller company who is looking for an experienced Landscape Construction Supervisor. We are seeking a dedicated individual to lead our team who is hardworking, energetic, possess strong leadership skills and a passion for landscape management, ensuring all projects are executed to the highest standard. This role involves supervising daily operations, coordinating tasks, and fostering a collaborative, positive environment among team members. The Supervisor would be on site leading a crew and moving projects forward quickly and efficiently.

Job Duties

This role requires effective communication with management, clients, subcontractors, and crew members to ensure that projects are completed on time within scope, and to the highest quality standard.

• Must have a minimum of 5+ years experience with a previous landscape construction company in the role of manager, crew leader or equivalent leader role
• Plan and execute the direction of landscape installation and projects to ensure timely completion of projects
• Must have good communication skills, be able to provide professional leadership, coaching and supervising to crew members with a positive, professional, energetic attitude and provide professional customer service
• Read and interpret drawings and specifications to delegate and complete landscape project
• Monitor and implement safety, quality and productivity of 2-6 landscape construction crew members
• Must communicate and report throughout the day and the end of each day to Project Manager via phone calls, text messages and pictures.
• Maintain and enforce standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, job sites and work yard area.
• Create, monitor and implement the schedule of preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating and cleaning on a scheduled basis.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations
• Good analytical problem-solving skills
• Component to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, heavy equipment, and materials and ability to teach crew members how to use tools.
• Knowledge on carpentry skills
• Effective stress management, time management and conflict resolution
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail

Work Environment:

• Experience operating a skid steer and excavator
• Ability to drive truck and trailer with possibility of unloading skid steer and excavator into trailer independently
• Physically fit and strong stamina. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout an entire shift
• Outside in all weather conditions. Various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, cold, snow, dust and noise
• Ability to set grades, elevations and levels and adjust to site conditions
• Must be experienced with concrete block retaining walls and both paver and slab installation
• Move and spread topsoil
• Experience laying sod or seed
• Experience with preparing and laying artificial turf
• Dig holes and plant trees and plants repetitively and maintain
• Monitor the health of plants and trees making adjustments to care routines as needed.
• Typical hours would be Monday-Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm; however operational demand throughout the season may vary in starting/ending times and may require overtime.
• As a supervisor of our team, we require you to travel to and from each job site
• We service many areas in the lower mainland including but not limited to, Chilliwack, Abbotsford, Surrey, Langley, Maple Ridge, Mission etc.,

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
