Job Title:

DZ Driver / Equipment Operator / Landscape Labourer (Full-time or Part-time On-Call)

Location:

Owen Sound, Ontario (Yard located just outside of Owen Sound)

Pay:

$25 - $35 per hour (based on experience)

Schedule:

  • Full-time option: Monday to Thursday, 10-hour shifts
  • Part-time option: On-call as required for driving and equipment operation

Job Description:

We are seeking a versatile and reliable DZ Driver / Equipment Operator / Landscape Labourer to join our landscaping team. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys variety — one day you may be hauling material in a single axle dump truck, the next operating a mini excavator or skid steer, and the next building a beautiful landscape project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive and operate a single axle dump truck (DZ license required)
  • Operate mini excavator and skid steer safely and efficiently
  • Perform landscape labour including:
  • Grading and excavation
  • Installing paver patios, retaining walls, and drainage systems
  • Using laser levels and hand tools
  • Operating concrete saws and compaction equipment

  • Maintain equipment and vehicles in good working condition
  • Assist with general yard duties when required

Qualifications:

  • Valid DZ license (required)
  • AR (A Restricted) license is an asset
  • Experience operating mini excavators and skid steers
  • Prior landscape construction experience is strongly preferred
  • Ability to read grades and use laser levels
  • Physically fit and able to handle the demands of landscape labour
  • Strong work ethic, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Personal transportation required to get to the yard (just outside of Owen Sound)
